Everything that gives Durham is character will be lost.
They actually want to use the vacant land in Pickering to build an airport, in turn, ruining the environment, agriculture and animal habitat that there is a lack of in the GTA communities.
Understandably it will create a certain amount of jobs for the time being, but it will also take away our animals, plants and insects, not to mention what it will do to the air and noise pollution.
This very idea is completely ridiculous. You figure, that with all this concern now with the world going green, they would actually consider leveling off the same areas we are trying to protect.
